Thank you 2019

I haven’t post on here in a while, so here it goes.

2019 was filled with so much joy and love that I dare say - it was the best year yet! I thought I’d hop on here to write down some of my favorite memories not only to update my friends who might give this a read, but as a sort of time capsule to share my most fond memories of my favorite year so far.

1. Robby and I conquered our first year of marriage!
Going into this first year, I heard a lot of “marriage is hard”, and although I agree that it does take a lot of work, it is amazing how worth it is it. In fact, it hardly feels like work at all. Married life with Robby is definitely not perfect, but so far, it feels as close to it as possible! This excites me because I know things will only get better with time! We have gone on so many adventures together this year, and I look forward for the rest to come!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of us in 2019!

2. We celebrated our Junie’s 1st birthday.
No seriously, we did. We had a party, and everything. This might sound crazy to you, but we feel like Junie is our child. Hahah Since picking her up as an 6 week old puppy, she has really become part of our tiny family. We love her snuggles, her sassy attitude, and the way she sticks out her tongue when she sleeps.

3. My brother got married!
My big brother, Hayden, tied the knot to the love of his life, Morgan, on April 13th! It was so fun to watch their sweet love come to life in a small ceremony in Seattle, WA. We froze our butts off, but the love they had was so warm. (It’s cheesy, but I swear it’s true)

4. We welcomed our newest nephew to the family.
Robbys sister, Megan welcomed baby Ford Allen into the world on May 3rd. (Yup, the day after my birthday!)This big boy has stolen all our hearts with the sweetest smile I’ve ever seen on a baby! He’s so sweet and chunky. Take a look at some of the pictures I took of this little angel

5.We Travelled soooo much!
As an early Christmas gift, Robby’s parents blessed us with a dream trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin to see my absolute favorite team play on their home turf. It was incredible. I’m not kidding when I say, I didn’t want to leave.  We also travelled to Hawaii, Nashville, D.C., Florida and Utah, too!

6. I got a new car!!!!
Robby and I decided it was finally time to part ways with my little Bradley Cooper. My mini was 12 years old and becoming incredibly unsafe in Bakersfield, where everyone drives incredibly large cars. After almost being smooshed on the 99 freeway, we decided to go take a look at cars. We were able to drive away in a 2019 BMW X3, which we named Nancy. I have one word for this car - amen.

7. I got a new job.
Yeah, you read that right! It was time for me to say goodbye to that marketing job that no one understood. Although I was sad to leave working from home, I’m finally living out my dreams of becoming a teacher. It’s  a very special situation of a teacher leaving mid-year, but I am taking over as a 6th grade teacher at an amazing school in the best district in town starting in January! I’m scared, but I know I’m well equipped and surrounded by amazing people who will support me along the way. Go Bulldogs!!

8. Soooooo many concerts
Let’s just say I saw the Kacey Musgraves in the best seats ever AND the Jonas Brothers twice.
That is all.

To end the year of right, my family was so amazing and came out to Bakersfield to spend Christmas with Robby and I in our home. As crazy as it was, I loved ending the year off right by being with my favorite people! Additionally, as I write this, I’m in Florida with my in-laws ready for the ball to drop!
Cheers to 2020 and all the exciting things that are to come! (Mostly the Harry Styles concert)
Stay Beautiful,
Megs
